We have a cant turner at our Girardville plant. The original hydraulic setup of this machine was causing lots of downtime. About every two weeks, a hose failure would cause an unscheduled 15 minutes production shut down.

Taimi Hydraulic had manifolds with swivelling ports that we had installed. The results are impressive; Not a single shut down for the last 7 months. The same hoses are still on the machine for this same 7 months. This translates in about a 14 shut downs that have been avoided, a reduction of oil consumption of 28 liters per week (840 liters in 7 months !), a work area that is cleaner and safer, and much less waste generated.

The installation was made in about an hour and the parts needed no maintenance so far. I am estimating that our return on investment was made in about a month!

Just looking at how simply and tough that are built, I estimate that they will last for many many years.

From now on, at Abitibi-Bowater Girardville, when a hydraulic hose moves, we think of Taimi to make it last longer!
